Condición: Fair. 1952. First Edition. 231 pages. Pictorial dust jacket over red cloth. Pages are moderately tanned and foxed throughout. Heavier to front and rear free endpapers. Pen inscription to front free endpaper. Cracking to gutters, with exposed netting. Front board is loose but still attached. Boards have mild edge-wear with slight rubbing to surfaces. Soft bumping to corners. Moderate crushing to spine ends. Light sunning to spine and edges. White spots to joint. Textblock is shaky. Book has a slight forward lean. Unclipped jacket has moderate edgewear with chips, tears and creasing. Loss to front and rear panels and spine ends. Scuffing to front panel. Notable sunning to spine. Water staining to interior.

Hardcover. Condición: Good. No Jacket. First Thus. Small Octavo xv 202pp. Black and white frontis of Walter Raymond at Withypool. Blue/black cloth, gilt, pictorial endpapers by Reginald L Knowles. Gilt on spine is faded, ends of spine and edges of boards are rubbed, top and leading edges of pages dusted and browned, foxing to first and last few pages else the contents are clean and tight. Tipped in photographs of Walter Raymond and Douglas Macmillan - Founder of the Somerset Folk Series. These are back to back and look as though cut from a periodical, There is also a pencil sketch of the head of a young man which has been cut out and pasted to a blank page at the front and a small early photograph of F B Carritt and Walter Raymond sitting on a bench in Wells, Somerset pasted to the dedication page with a description written in ink underneath. There is also a typed letter enclosed to Miss Carritt from J A Carton dated 14.4.1931 after the death of Mr. Raymond saying that he ' thought her production of his Play was by far the bes't. On the front free endpaper is a pencil inscription ' Elsie M Holwell from Dorothy M Carritt April, 1966. Dorothy Carritt is mentioned several times in the book.
