First Edition Author was a reformer, poet, and journalist. He edited the Essex County Washingtonian and its successor, the Pioneer. Both were published weekly in Lynn, Massachusetts. These articles and poetry were original published in those publications. Many of the articles are on religion with Henry Clapp's opposition to popular religion and its institutions evident.
