It is highly unlikely that this would occur with one of our books. Our extensive quality control ensures that the readers of Trieste Publishing's books will be delighted with their purchase. Our staff has thoroughly reviewed every page of all the books in the collection, repairing, or if necessary, rejecting titles that are not of the highest quality. This process ensures that the reader of one of Trieste Publishing's titles receives a volume that faithfully reproduces the original, and to the maximum degree possible, gives them the experience of owning the original work.We pride ourselves on not only creating a pathway to an extensive reservoir of books of the finest quality, but also providing value to every one of our readers. Librería: My Father's Books, Bennington, VT, Estados Unidos de America
Libro Original o primera edición
Hardcover. Condición: Very Good. 1st Edition. Printed in the U.S.A. at the Riverside Press. First printing of Bourne's first book. 364 pages. The original green cloth is very good, with the gilt lettering and embossed emblem on the upper board still bright. However, the spine lettering is dulled and barely discernible, and there is a touch of rubbing to the spine ends, corner tips, and bottom edge with slight loss of color. The interior is creamy bright, despite a toned top edge, and is completely clean. [Please see my five images of the actual book.] "Out of the turbulence of youth should come this fine precipitate---a sane, strong, aggressive spirit of daring and doing. It must be a flexible, growing spirit, with a hospitality to new ideas, and a keen insight into experience. To keep one's reactions warm and true, is to have found the secret of perpetual youth, and perpetual youth is salvation." Bourne was a student of John Dewey's at Columbia and a member of the Boar's Head Society. He suffered from physical disabilities throughout his short life, touched on here in one of his essays---'A Philosophy of Handicap.' As with every book from my father's collection, tipped-in at the front is the small, attractive, acid-free bookplate pictured on my homepage. All books are wrapped with special care and are shipped promptly with tracking; international sales sent via global priority, also with tracking. Please note that, due to COVID, overseas shipping may incur unusual delays.
