The novel starts off with some marijuana-smoking cowboys holed-up in a hotel room where a Spanish-trained doctor is looking after a bullet wound in their compadre - Bix. The gun shot was sustained in Nuevo Laredo. Meet Lisandro Herrera, Jeremiah Judgeson, Joe Anglor, Frito Chico, Tiddle Caylor, Packy Gunter, Coonhound, Beth Trudeau, Marshall Dallas Stoudenmire, Black Hatch, and Rattlesnake Dan. Some of the action takes place at the Water Hole Ranch, some at the Good taste Hotel, and some at the Bent Hand House of Chance and Love. Cond : Paper wrapper is buckskin coloured, with dark brown lettering. Front cover graphic is a cameo photo (`olde tymie') in sepia tones of Wild Bill and Juanita. Fore corners are o-oh s-so-o slightly soft. Binding tight, colours bright !1 No names, marks, tears, stains, nor creases. Light soiling. SIGNED by `Wild Bill' on the half-title. A gift inscr. on an early page looks to also be in the author's hand. Collectible rarity !! Quote (p. 69) : " . over to Padre Island.
