Original green cloth with gilt titled spine. CONDITION DESCRIPTION: Covers are rubbed and lightly worn on spine ends, edges, and corners. Evidence of label removed from spine. New endpapers, some wear and small hole on dedication page; else interior pages are clean and tight. With clear mylar wrapper. CONTENTS DESCRIPTION: The 12th New Hampshire Infantry fought with the Army of the Potomac. It is recognized as one of the FOX 300 Fighting Regiments. It suffered heavy causalities at Chancellorsville and later at Gettysburg. After 8-months of guard duty at Point Lookout, it took to the field again in 1864 and participated in the battle at Cold Harbor. It led the way into a captured Richmond in April 1865. The portrait plates are especially nice with dozens of soldier engravings.
