Hardcover. Condición: Very Good. No Jacket. Ver Beck, Frank Ilustrador. First Thus. A continuation of the tale of Sambo, the beloved children's character who has not been immune from charges of racism for both the story & pictures since he was first introduced by Ms Bannerman in 1899. Here, American illustrator Frank Ver Beck (1858-1933) joins her in creating 5 new tales featuring Sambo as he encounters elephants, tiger kittens, monkey people, bears, & crocodiles. The original story is also included. 64 pp. Orig. published by Altheus in 1930, this is the First Printing of Platt & Munk's edition from 1935 (First, thus). Hardcover small 4to (8" x 10.25") has bright orange cloth-covered boards with a colorful paper pastedown to front.
