Pencil gift incription from aunt to niece Christmas 1867 on first blank page. Light rubbing to binding, spine gilt still bright; internally toned with sparse stained dots. Harriette also wrote under Aunt Hattie and published about 200 moral and religious titles under Mrs. Leslie. Born in Andover Ma, her father Dr. Leonard Woods was founder of Andover Newton Theological Seminary. She married a clergyman and so became her five children .
