Librería: Alexanderplatz Books, New York, NY, Estados Unidos de America
Quarto format. A total of fifteen issues of the journal "Impact," devoted to results and analysis of the air war, and five issues of "Air Force," privately bound in two volumes in tan cloth with leather labels. Volume labelled 1944 has six issues of "Impact" (vol. 2, nos. 7-12) and five issues of "Air Force" (April-June, 1944, January, 1945). Volume with the label 1945 has nine issues of "Impact," all published in 1945, the last issue (September-October) being a double issue. With the war over, publication ceased. "Impact" was rated as Confidential. After the end of the war, the magazine was declassified and the classification, which was printed in a box on each issue's cover, was officially struck through. These issues were obtained in 1947 from the War Department by a private individual. Two letters from the War Department responding to requests from him for materials, including these magazines, are fixed to the endpapers of the 1945 volume; the second letter, in particular, states it is impossible to provide him with further issues, since no more were available for distribution. Many hundreds of pages, each issue running to more than fifty or sixty pages. "Impact," with its higher security classification, is more mission-oriented and has photographs of every aspect of air operations in all theaters of the war. Possibly a unique, albeit incomplete, run in private hands. Anticipate extra shipping charges due to weight.
