Painted in 1893 and exhibeted in the Royal Institute in 1894. Charles MacIver Grierson (1864-1939), the esteemed Irish artist, is renowned for his captivating paintings showcased in prestigious exhibitions like the Royal Academy and the Royal Hibernian Academy. His works, now held in private collections in Sligo and the Art Gallery of South Australia, Adelaide, reflect his artistic brilliance. Grierson's return to Ireland in the late 1890s led to a serendipitous meeting with his future wife in County Sligo. His art, spanning various themes, has not only adorned exhibitions but also set auction records, attesting to its timeless appeal. Grierson's ability to capture narratives, such as the depiction of a Parliamentarian father, adds depth to his artistic legacy. Approximate Overall Size: 10 ins x 7 3/4 ins.
