Frontispiece to "Hot Countries": This original Lynd Ward wood engraving was created for the 1930 travel book, "Hot Countries", published by Farrer & Rinehart. In this book the novelist, Alec Waugh, gives the reader first hand impressions of such tropical destinations as Tahiti, Martinique, Siam and Ceylon. Lynd Ward was commissioned to produce a number of wood engravings for the publication. For the popular edition, the wood engravings were photo mechanically reproduced. This beautiful wood engraving served as the frontispieceApproximate Image Size: 5 1/2 ins x 4 ins. Approximate Overall Size: 8 1/2 ins x 5 1/2 ins. Printed on heavier paper. Blank on the back.
