It embraces all singing birds (Oscines), together with many other small perching birds. - Chimney Swallow are any one of numerous species of small, long-winged, insectivorous birds of the family Micropodid[ae]. In form and habits the swifts resemble swallows, but they are destitute of complex vocal muscles and are not singing birds, but belong to a widely different group allied to the humming birds. - House Martin are an Old World bird (Delichon urbica) having blue-black plumage, white rump and underparts, and a forked tail. Also called martlet. - Esculent swallow are the swallow which makes the edible bird's-nest. Approximate Overall Size: 7 X 10 1/2 inches (18 x 26.5 cm) CONDITION: Suitable browning from age with mild spotting & soiling otherwise still in Very Good Condition.
