RARE illustrated hardcover book with dust-jacket. "Warszawskie Konfrontacje" (Warsaw Confrontations). Photography by Edward Falkowski. Text by Olgierd Budrewicz. From the Piekno Polski series, this is the Second Edition, published by Sport I Turystyka, 1971. Polish, English, French, German and Russian text. 8vo, 24.6 cm x 19.2 cm x 1.3 cm, Brown cloth-covered boards, Brown embossed lettering on spine, Brown embossed figure on front cover, Decorated first end paper, Glossy printed dust-jacket. 110 pages. Weight; 507 Grams. CONTENTS ARE IN GREAT CONDITION!!! However, dust-jacket is very worn, marked, foxed, with tears repaired with tape, small pieces missing either end of spine area. BOOK IN GOOD SHAPE: Spine is clean and sturdy, slightly bumped & scuffed either end, binding tight! Cover is clean with a little edge wear. Corners are very slightly bumped, 3 are scuffed, one is frayed board exposed there. Last page of List of Illustrations slightly marked. Very light age tanning & occasional foxing throughout, more pronounced on end papers. RARE ITEM, EXCELLENT CONDITION INSIDE!!! A collection of striking black & white photographs of various parts of Warsaw destroyed during the Second World War set opposite a picture of what the same places look like 25 years later, some rebuilt, some replaced.
