Reprint of the 1922 edition from the Chronicles of Canada series. e Loyalists of the American Revolution (The U.E.L. in Canada) who supported king and country above all else, suffered dire consequences for being on the losing side. Their property was confiscated and they were forced to immigrate to parts of the Britsh Empire and begin new lives. Many went to Canada and this is the story of the second great migration to that country and the settlement of the Maritime provinces, Quebec and Ontario. Includes index, new introduction & preface.
