Two related proposals for major developments in Riyadh and Jeddah iin original landscaped wraps 42 x 30cm, one silver, the other green, with black titles to the front. Each contain (1) + 9 b/w plans and drawings on heavier paper (Volume 1A: Preliminary Design) + (10)pp text (Volume 1B: Description of Project, Calculations), printed to the rectos only. Covers very good or better, interiors near fine. Extremely rare ? neither are recorded on Worldcat or Jisc, and no other references found online. KKN would have produced further volumes as the projects developed, as stated in the Riyadh document, which mentions 4 phases: ?This Project Description is in reference to the first construction phase?. KKN (or KKP Kiemle Kreidt and Partner, today HKP Architekten) was formed in 1970 working on public sector projects, shifting to the private sector from 1980. The Riyadh Souk and 246 room hotel (with expansion, apartments, and other facilities built during phases 2-4) was well located on the corner of Maazar and King Feisal Streets, connecting royal palaces with the airport, and close to the Intercontinental Hotel (opened 1975). The 252 room Jeddah hotel for government guests and businesspeople was 1km from the airport, very near the Airport-Palace Road, Jeddah's main artery. Plates include floor and room plans, sections, elevations, and inset maps. The Riyadh proposal also includes a plan of the phases, and artist?s impressions of lobby and exterior.
