Frank De Haven, member of the National Academy of Design, numbered among his works many exquisite representations of nature; but none surpass in warmth and technical excellence this study of a trout stream in fall. The late Frank De Haven born at Bluffton, Ind., December 26, 1856, died January 10, 1934. He studied art under George H. Smille, N. A. Inness prize, 1900. Shaw prize, 1901. Honorable mention Pan American Exp., Buffalo, N. Y., 1901. Silver medal, Charleston Exp., 1903. Silver medal, Universal Exp., St. Louis, 1904. Vezin Prize, 1916 Silver medal, National Arts Club. Facsimile Printed In U.S.A.". A 12 ¾ x 16 5/8 color reproduction of a De Haven painting, printed on a slightly larger sheet (with 1/4 borders), with a fold-over printed label attached to the back upper left edge, and with printed Iodent statement on back of sheet. Light age-related tanning to margins, slight dusting, tanning to back of sheet; image is clean. Fine. Scan shows a portion of the image & label. Very scarce Iodent give-away, one of a series devoted to American artists, done in 1938, for Iodent s 18th anniversary. From the picture file of Pittsburgh fine arts dealer, Charles A. Wunderly.
