Published in the National Illustrated Library series, the first edition is undated and contains no reprint information on the titles. 'The first complete translation of Huc's journey to Tibet with Gabet. Huc gives information on foreigners in Lhasa at this time, the position of relations between China and Tibet, and the Tibetan fear of the English after it was discovered Moorcroft had made maps of Tibet.'- Marshall.
