Paperback. 140 pages. Dimensions: 8.8in. x 6.0in. x 0.6in.He was thirty-three, agreeable to look at, equipped with as much culture and intelligence as is tolerated east of Fifth Avenue and west of Madison. He had a couple of elaborate rooms at the Lenox Club, a larger income than seemed to be good for him, and no profession. It follows that he was a pessimist before breakfast. Besides, its a bad thing for a man at thirty-three to come to the conclusion that he has seen all the most attractive girls in the world and that they have been vastly overrated. So, when a club servant with gilt buttons on his coat tails knocked at the door, the invitation to enter was not very cordial. He of the buttons knocked again to take the edge off before he entered; then opened the door and unburdened himself as follows: This item ships from multiple locations. Acerca de

Sinopsis:

Mr. Keen is an enigmatic older man who promises to find anyone, anywhere. No find, no fee - and the fee is scaled appropriately based on the task and the client. He's aided in his task by a shadowy network of talented experts and a legion of attractive young typists. In the five interlinked stories of The Tracer of Lost Persons, the actual business of tracing goes on in the background. When Mr. Keen is introduced to each of the five protagonists, he does so in a curt, businesslike way - generally with a bit of showing off.........

About the Author:

Robert W. Chambers (1865-1933) was a prolific author of nearly forty books. In addition Chambers picked up some two dozen film credits as writer. Originally trained as an artist, Chambers succeeded as a young man as an illustrator for popular magazines. He apparently found writing more to his liking and began a second career, as novelist and short story writer, with a romantic volume set in Paris. This was called In the Quarter (published 1894). His most famous book, The King in Yellow, followed the next year. A cycle of strange stories about a mysterious drama of that name, the book achieved a kind of underground following and remains controversial among Lovecraftians and other aficionados of the macabre.
