LARISON, CORNELIUS W. The Tenting School: A Description of the Tours Taken, and of the Field Work Done . in the Academy of Science and Art at Ringos, N.J., During the Year 1882. Ringos: C. W. Larison, 1883. viii, 292 p. Illus. Cloth (spine soiled). Descriptions of two trips taken in 1882 by the students and teachers of Larison's school. The first trip, lasting only a day, was to Pickle's Mountain by way of Flemington, Barley Sheaf, and White House Station. The second trip, filling eight days, was through Monmouth and Ocean Counties. In the very detailed record of this tour are excellent descriptions of Monmouth Battlefield, Squan Beach, Barnegat Bay, Oceanport, Manasquan, Asbury Park, and probably the best period description of the start of Bay Head. Larison praises many towns, particularly Asbury Park, but he is highly critical of the wealthy visitors to Long Branch. N° de ref. del artículo 4619
