Hardcover. Condición: Very Good. Original cloth contained in full morocco box, labelled 'Romaine's Treatise on Faith'. Provenance Maggs Bros. with John Magg's inscription 'Captain John L Stokes, RN. A small tribute of affection form Geo. Phillips'. Stokes was the noted explorer and surveyor, on the third voyage of the Beagle, conducted surveys of the north Queensland coast and the Bass Strait, and commanded HMS Acheron in its New Zealand surveying of the late 1840s.
