'With a view to the publication of a history of the Worcestershire, Thomas transcribed many documents as well as visiting every church in the county. His industry was amazing and he hardly allowed himeslf time for sleep, meals and amusement.'- DNB. pp.[2],vi,124,222,8,210. Folding view of the cathedral. folding plan & 33 further engravings, mostly full-page, some on the letterpress, some with neat folding lower-margin flaps, as is correct and given by the detailed collation in Upcott. An excellent copy in contemporary full calf, the spine in six panels with label, gilt, neatly re-hinged. Neat small 19th C Ashmolean Library stamp to foot of title & its verso, but no other stamps or marks, & small ownership inscription of W.A. Parrish, Oriel College, Oxford, 1940 to endpaper. Vg.
