(1885) 50 pages, frontis, original printed wraps with minor edge wear. Overall a very good copy of an item rarely found in any printing. Van Sickel relates his experiences of 1874 and 75 while a buffalo hunter ranging from the Pan Handle of Texas, through Oklahoma, and Kansas, with much centering on Dodge City. He describes Indian encounters, relates the fight at Adobe Walls, and gives a detailed and pitiful account of the snow storm of January 1875 which claimed the lives of his companions, and left him crippled.
