The Seasons, James Thomson, John Sharpe, 1825, This is a series of four poems by the Scottish author which cover each of the seasons. The first poem, Winter, was extremely influential, and stimulated works by John Christopher Smith, Jospeh Haydn, Thomas Gainsborough and J.M.W. Turner among many others. Not commonly seen in such fine condition, the binding is straight and tight, the boards are bright with gilt inlays. The spine has some nibbling to the side edges. The end papers and pages are clean without marks or tears. There is a neat personal inscription and ownership name and date to the front paper. The page edges have retained their original golden tint. Will be despatched carefully wrapped in bubblewrap and in a cardboard box. N° de ref. del artículo 01003
