Book condition - VG., contents clean, no inscriptions, no foxing, inner hinges intact, plates in excellent condition with no tears, the extra single insert is a photocopy of a diagram with the heading "Maunder Butterfly Diagram of sunspots by Latitude for Solar Cycles 19, 20 and Beginning of Cycle 21" ; original hardback binding with paper covered boards and straw-coloured cloth spine piece , title in black to spine and front board , light wear at corners and board edges, back a little dusty but no marks, spine shows some rubbing and consequent slight loss at ends and spine title is a trifle rubbed but still very clear, front board also with no marks and titling is complete and clear, small ink inscription ("J. K Edwards") at top right of front board. "This compilation of sunspot and geo-magnetic storm data has been made in the hope that it will be useful to those investigating solar-terrestrial relationships. The sunspot data have been extracted fromt the annual volumes of the Greenwich Photoheliographic Results covering the whole period of eighty years. the mean daily areas of sunspots and faculae for each calendar month. have been incorporated, the unit period adopted in the . [G.P.] Results having always been that of the Sun's synodic rotation, averaging 27.3 days. For the tabulation of geomagnetic storms, the annual volume of the Greenwich Magnetic and Meteorological Observations have been freely used. The contents of this volume are arranged under four chief headings AREAS OF SUNSPOTS AND FACULAE , SUNSPOT LATITUDES, CATALOGUE OF LARGER SUNSPOTS, CATALOGUE OF GEOMAGNETIC STORMS.
