Fold-out frontispiece, and 68 other engraved plates (some are fold-outs). Several fold-out plates show vertical tears (splits) to the paper along the folds, affecting the images; some light spotting, age-related tanning to some plates and pages. Several plates are by George Garrard (1760-1826); most of the smaller plates are by Sawtrey Gilpin (1733-1807), engraved by John Scott (1774-1828). Bound in old brown, polished calf spines, sides and corner-pieces, with titling and bands gilt on the spines, with marbled paper-covered boards, red sprinkled edges. Spine ends, cover corners, edges, outer hinges show some wear. Weight: 7 1/2 lbs. Postage is extra on this item.
