Preface dated Jan 5th 1883states Engel died before completion of the last revision of the draft. 4 footnotes added by A J Hipkins. This book has bright gold lettering "The Violin Family C. Engel" on the spine. The boards are plain very dark green cloth. Generally very good condition with some light markings to cloth. No fading to spine. Crisp corners and sound tight binding. Internally generally excellent, clean and bright with a number of line illustrations. Wonderful bright green end papers.
