Acerca de

Puce is Pretty introduces an alphabet of exotic color names from Azure to Zinc with fun, alliterative phrases that make it easy to remember each new color. Children are also challenged to spot vocabulary words in every picture. This book entertains on many levels and is sure to transform children and adults into more colorful speakers.

About the Author:

Linda Mackin was born in Ames, Iowa. Growing up on a twenty acre farm, she was forced to either read to the cows for amusement or play with her little brother. The cows were good listeners. Then, as now, books were an important part of her life.

A talent for math and art plus practival parents put the kibosh on even thinking about pursuing a degree in writing. Instead, she studied Architecture at Iowa State University.

Some highlights of her architectural career include designing an 826 square foot house in the desert for a family of four, trying to catch a break by wearing short skirts when applying for building permits, and feeling vaguely responsible when a contractor fooled around with a client's wife.

Puce is Pretty is her first published book. Two middle grade chapter books for smart kids are very near publication. Linda is also working on a handbook for mean mommies.

Linda lives and writes in Washington state, where it doesn't really rain all that much.
