Popular Edition, undated. A reprint of Buchan s first Edward Leithen novel in a similar format to the first edition (Blanchard A35). 233 pages. Textured red cloth, black lettering. A few very small water spots on the front but otherwise very good throughout. There is a gift inscription on the fly-leaf and a small bookshop label on the front paste-down. The exceptionally rare dustwrapper has a similar illustration to the first edition (men at a dinner table and shadowy horsemen in the background) but is printed in dark blue and white rather than full colour. Some brown speckles around the edges and a couple of tiny nicks and chips around the edges and extremities. Where the price was shown (front and spine) it has been neatly punched out leaving a circular hole in each case. This was a pointless exercise as the rear cover carries a list of Blackwoods 1/- net Popular Novels which includes this title. N° de ref. del artículo 1001
