Size of sheet: 7 7/8" x 10 1/8", image size: 7 5/8" x 9 3/8" A photographic print (or enlargement of an earlier photograph), printed in a tan tone (which appears yellow in the scan), printed on glossy photographic paper, of actress Ruth Chatterton in a robe or dressing gown. Possibly taken as a publicity photo for the Hanna Theater, for theatrical or newspaper publication (we have been unable to trace this image); by Cleveland, Ohio based artistic and commercial photographer, R. C. Hakanson (1906-ca. 1985), with his rubberstamped name & address on the back of sheet in lower right corner: R. C. Hakanson 1254 East 9th St. Cleveland, Ohio & his penciled file number: 164-14, and red rubberstamped date & initials: Oct 5 1939 F.H.F. An area of tan staining from a (missing) rubber-cemented (caption?) label is on the back of sheet on center of lower edge/margin; upper right corner of photo shows a light, partial crease, some light scratches to glossy surface, some fading. From the personal collection of R. C. Hakanson, who did a number of back stage & dressing room shots (some of which he entered into local photographic exhibitions).
