Hard Cover. Condición: Very Good. No Jacket. First Edition. Patrick Pearse, poet, educator, and revolutionary, proclaimed the Irish Republic at the Easter Week rising of 1916; later he was executed by the British. This is a Very Good copy containing his most important witings. Green cloth binding with gilt lettering on spine (fading) and embossed Celtic device on front panel. Text bright and clean. 372 pages. Corners gently bumped, edges a bit dusty. Laid in is a newspaper clipping from 1953, a poem about the Rising. No date, but believed to be the First Edition published by Phoenix in 1924. (Why books are fascinating: there is some confusion about the various editions of this book. Evidently Maunsel published an edition in 1922, rarely seen, perhaps due to effects of the Civil War. WorldCat has a different page count and also lists a Phoenix 1916 edition with a question mark.) An historic and important title. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Nº de ref. del artículo: 000853
