Book condition: fair, very scarce, sold as is, includes the life of author and his list of Scots proverbs, volume I starts with a list of the dozens of poems contained within and is followed by chapter titled "To the most beautiful, the Scots Ladies", volume II offers a preface to the American edition, dozens of poems, the proverbs and a glossary of Scots words, each volume bound in well scuffed leather, one board held by one string, one by two strings and the fourth in good condition, pastedowns and endpapers show light to moderate staining, most to outside edge, interiors basically clean, 296 and 324 pages, each volume 4.5 X 7.5 inches.
