Full set of 7 plans, with a scale of 3/4 inches to 1 foot ( = 1:16 ratio). The plans vary in size from 29 x 20 inches to 38 x 28 inches, and each has been folded in four. The condition is Good plus ; each plan is clear, with no insciptions. the surface is a little dusty, the edges are creased with the occasional small edge tear and each has a tape tag on one edge with a number (1 to 7) handwritten in ink. The set of plans is housed in an original plain cardooard folder which was used when the plans were sent as is evident from the Yachting Monthly address label. The folder is somewhat worn and stained but essentially still sound enough to protect the plans. Please see the photos for indications of the plans and their condition. These plans are being sold together with a copy of the book that can be viewed as the companion work to the plans. Indeed, the author states that ". this book is intended to simplify matters for the amateur who proposes to build one of the YM [Yachting Monthly ] designs . or any similar chine design.". In it, the author deals with the processes and techniques of boat building - eg frames, moulds and planking, making spars, how to rivet copper nails, a method of routing the hollow , etc. . The book is graded as near Very Good with the contents clean, no inscriptions, no foxing, the binding firm ; the exterior is clean, with only slight wear to the edges ; the gilt title on the front board is complete but quite dulled.
