This is an antique collection of 54 bound photogravures of "Paris and its Environs." Circa 1890's (there is no date of publication stated). With "notices" written in both French and English. Images include views from Paris, Versailles, Fontainebleau, St. Germain-en-Laye, Malmaison, and Chantilly - here are a few examples: Panorama of Eight Bridges, The Arch of Triumph and Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Champs-Elysees Avenue, The Madelaine Church, The Church of Notre Dame, The Holy Chapel, The Pantheon, The Eiffel Tower and Trocadero Gardens, Looking Glass Gallery, Bathes of Apollon, Fountain of Dragon, Temple of Love, The Castle - Napoleon I Bedroom, Henry IV Pavilion, Bedroom of the Empress Josephine.and many more. Condition: There are tiny specks on the front cover; the back cover has a couple small, light stains along the top edge. Tiny cloth tears at the cover corners. The gilt on the front cover has partially faded. Tight binding with no cracks and no loose pages. All 54 photogravures are present and securely attached. The front blank end paper is attached, but has pulled from the spine halfway down from the top edge. A thin, 2" strip has torn away at the bottom edge of page 3. The photogravures are in nice condition - clean with the exception of a dime-sized foxing spot at the outer edge of "Opera House" and a few light smudges at the right edge of "Concorde Place." Light foxing to the rear end paper and pastedown. Overall the book is in Very Good- condition. N° de ref. del artículo ABE-1693866288140
