Paris, Jeremie Perier, 1598 ; Jaques du Puys, 1576 ; 3 works bound in one, small 8vo, pp [8], 391, [1]; [8], 88ff; FIRST EDITIONS OF 2 WORKS, THIRD OF "LA PUISSANCE". A major collection of legal treatises by the Angers lawyer Pierre Ayrault [1536-1601] including the first edition of his most important work 'De l'Ordre et Instruction Judiciaire' of 1576, a work that went through many editions and enlargements. The Opuscules include, with separate dated title page of 1598, the third edition of 'De La Puissance Paternelle', another popular and influential work of Ayrault. It appears that the collection of 21 court 'pleadings' of Ayrault which commence the 'Opuscules' was not intended for publication but the manuscript 'fell into the hands' of the printer on its way from Paris to Angers in 1568, when they were first printed. 1 vol volumes. Bound in 17th Century calf, spine gilt with raised bands and red label, text waterstained in places, light soiling, cropped rather close, else sound . N° de ref. del artículo 130601
