Original colour wraps 21x20cm. (33)pp colour illustrated throughout. Very good, lightly rubbed to corners with creasing to top corners of the first few leaves. Undated, c mid-1980s. Prepared for school children visiting PDO's Oil Exhibition Centre and Mobile Display Trailer, this attractively produced work describes how Sultan Qaboos wisely uses oil revenues for development, how oil is used by industry, fishermen and households, its formation, exploration, extraction, and refining. Locations pictured include PDO sites at Mina al Fahal and Marmul, its Exhibition Centre and Mobile Display Trailer, and Oman's first power station al-Ghubrah, which began operations in 1976. A double page pictorial map identifies oil and gas fields and installations. British artist Brian Denyer (b1940) was also commissioned to draw historic buildings and sites in Oman, and buildings in old Jeddah which were presented to Saudi ministers and Prince Charles during his visit in 1986.
