M. Morrison Company in 1967 (updating and revising the 1869 Robert Clarke & Co. edition), with 624 pages, with 1 map and several full-page illustration portrait plates added to the new edition (NOTE: a 2nd map at end of book is missing). NOTE: The photos you can access with this listing are of the actual book you will be sent. NOTE: EX-LIBRARY BOOK, please expect library markings and indicia. This edition is what is known as the ?Morrison? edition of the book. The book has been updated by O. D. Morrison, who was Professor of History at Ohio University, and, among other updates, this edition includes an extensive genealogical listing of names added at the end, something the original book and its subsequent reprints do not include. Handsome, well-made book, bound in very heavy-duty cloth-covered boards with embossed gilt lettering on the spine. The book has no significant flaws, shows brief, occasional, minor signs of use or age (pages slightly age-toned). The book is clean and stain-free, square and straight, still quite firm and tight in its binding, no pages are loose, torn, or missing. The hinges are sound and undamaged, the corners are sharp and unbumped. All pages are clean and stain-free, and all text is sharp and legible. We detected no writing, underlining, highlighting, or other such markings in the text of the book. Buy with confidence, professional booksellers for 35 years, selling books online since 1995. B18.
