First edition. Pamphlet. Disbound. 8vo. ( 190mm. ) Pp. [4], [1] 2 - 158 [2] blank. With a Half-title. Uncut. Recent paper wrappers over the original drab blue paper wrappers of which only the lower remains. Initial gathering a little shaken. A clean bright copy. This is an important and seminal work in the understanding and significance of the pulse, and possibly the first time pulse tables had been published. William Falconer (1744 - 1824 ) was a Physician born in Chester. He graduated MD from Edinburgh in 1766. He was Physician to the Bath General Hospital, 1784 - 1819. He was held in great esteem as a doctor but was not a popular man. He published essays on the Bath waters and many medical tracts. This is a well held pamphlet institutionally but not often seen for sale, the ESTC ( on-line 10 / 18 ) locates 16 copeis in the British Isles, and 9 copies in North America.
