Nelson remains one of Britain's most notable heros, although he died in 1805 just as victory was assured over the French and Spanish fleets at Trafalgar. It was his fleet operations that enabled Britain to eventually prevail over Napoleon. Few, if any, naval figures have had more books written about their lives and exploits, but this is a book with a difference. Little that is new may be found in the comprehensive text but this study, made in consultation with Admiral Chester Nimitz,USN, is remarkable for its illustrations which are drawn heavily from contemporary art works. Its many colour paintings - battle scenes, personalities, ship board life and ship profiles - are backed up with numerous other b/w art works, a few photographs, documents and maps depicting similar subjects. Also published USA 1963. 153 pages including references, index, colour, b/w illustrations throughout. Colour pictorial hard covers VG+, colour art e/apers, text block excellent, no inscriptions, only blemish is clipped top corner FFEP. N° de ref. de la librería 002698
