Descripción W H LIZARS, EDINBURGH, 1843. Cloth. Estado de conservación: Good. Stewart Ilustrador. 1st Edition. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. A good copy of the 1st edition of the final volume in Jardine's Naturalist's Library in the original publisher's binding. This volume covers the Natatores which include seagulls, puffins and ducks. With volume listing; black and white frontispiece portrait of Wilson; black and white vignette title page of seagulls; 2 further title pages; publisher's advert; contents listing; Memoir of Alexander Wilson; text with black and white illustrations; directions for the binder; and 31 hand coloured plates. A set of title pages for the entire series is also bound in. This was done in case subscribers wanted to rebind their sets using title pages with the same date - 1843. The binding is in good to very good condition. It has some fading and a little pulling to the spine and is slightly shaken. The top of the spine is beginning to fray a little. The top corners of the boards are slightly bumped. The original green endpapers are present. Text is clean with the occasional spot. Some initial plates are without tissue guards or have spotty guards, and they have some browning to the edges. Later plates are better - paper has some light toning to edges. There is a small mark to the rear pastedown. Nº de ref. de la librería 032099
