In addition there is a rather dramatic color illustration of the mountain pasted into a panel on the upper board. Slight edgewear including discoloration at top right corner of upper board (see image). Pasted in bookplate (of J S Barton). 143 pages including index, over 190 illustraions, tissue guarded colour frontispiece and seven other colour halftones and 190 one colour halftones. There is a double page colour map tipped in the rear endpapers. Two pages have marginal tears which have been repaired with Magic tape. *** CONTENTS: This classic of American mountianeering was first self published by the Author in 1910, This is the second enlarged and revised edition put out by Putnam's a year later.
