Two volumes; 6 3/4" x 9 3/4", (vol. 1): 391+pp. with errata & folding (Milan) city map, fine photo-lithographic reproductions of original plates (some from daguerrotypes), vignette illustrations, tables; (vol. 2): 506pp. + errata, folding map of the region (Contorni di Milano, 1844), plates & illustrations as in vol. 1. Dark brown leather-surfaced cloth with repros. of black spine labels, gilt titles & borders on spines. Edges show some small tan spotting; scattered tan spotting to endpapers, prelims., final pp. of both volumes, small crack in upper spine end on vol. 2; else, a near fine set. Very scarce reprint (limited to 250 sets), of the rare 1844 edition.
