Descripción xix, 227pp, 56 plates, 44 illustrations 26x21, blue cloth, glt text, glt top edge. Cloth sunned on spine, pages roughly (but neatly) cut, very good this. Nicely produced, and lovingly written, survey of the woodwork inside Manchester's cathedral, including the famous mediaeval musical instrument carvings on the nave roof brackets. The building was originally a parish and collegiate church established in the 15th century, before being dedicated as a Cathedral for the newly established Diocese of Manchester in 1847.
