VERY RARE gilded & embossed illustrated hardcover book complete with dust-jacket. "Mary Ware in Texas" By Annie Fellows Johnston. Illustrator: Frank T. Merrill. This is the Eighteenth Impression, published by L. C. Page & Company Publishers, Boston, September 1943. 12mo, 19.8 cm x 14 cm x 4 cm, Dark red cloth-covered boards, Gilt embossed lettering on spine & front cover, Clear embossed 'The Little Colonel' Trade Mark on back cover, Matt printed dust-jacket. 385 pages. Weight: 565 Grams. CONTENTS ARE LIKE NEW!!! However, dust-jacket is age tanned, discoloured, scuffed on back, small mark on reverse, edges frayed, creased and torn with tiny pieces missing from top. BOOK IN GREAT SHAPE: Spine is clean & sturdy, slightly bumped & scuffed either end with tiny tear at head, gilt bright, binding tight! Cover is clean with a little edge wear. Corners are straight & slightly scuffed. Ink annotation (name) on 1st end paper. Top edge is slightly darkened. Page 67 is slightly soiled, text is fully visible. Very light age tanning throughout.
