VERY RARE illustrated hardcover book, sorry no dust-jacket. "Martin of Old London" By Herbert Strang. Illustrator: C. E. Brock. Published in 1930 by Oxford University Press, London: Humphrey Milford. 12mo, 18.8 cm x 13 cm x 3.1 cm, Blue cloth-covered boards, Blue embossed lettering & clear embossed decoration on spine, Clear embossed lettering & decoration on front cover. 192 pages. Weight: 339 Grams. CONTENTS ARE LIKE NEW!!! However, there are several cracks between pages throughout, pages look uneven. First free end paper and Frontispiece are missing. Spine is faded, scuffed & marked, bumped & frayed either end with small loss of cloth there, lettering visible but worn away in parts. Cover is a little grubby, few marks, 3 n umbers in ink on front, edge wear. Corners are bumped & frayed, boards exposed there. Damage & paper loss exposing mesh on 1st end paper. Some pages (very few) have tiny edge bumps, and/or light creasing at top edge, and/or corner folds/creases. Page 80 has faint marks in bottom margin. Small damp stain on last end paper. Light age tanning & very occasional foxing throughout. VERY RARE ITEM, BEAUTIFUL INSIDE!!!
