The acquaintance of the two is dated back to the mid 1910s when Ä apek, as university student, attended Benes' lectures on American pragmatism. Karel Ä apek (1890-1938) was a Czech novelist best known for his science fiction novels, and mostly for his play "R.U.R." that introduced the word "robot". In original blue cloth.
