Descripción

"Born in 1921 in Berlin, Germany, Margot DeWilde was a young woman when she and her husbamd were arrested and transported to Konzentrationslager Auschwitz, the largest of the German Nazi concentration camps. Upon her arrival there, Margot was selected by Dr. Josef Mengele, along with about twenty-five other women, to be used in sterilization experiments. Because of this selection, Margot was able to avoid death in a gas chamber. But her dream of having and raising children someday was stolen from her as she was subjected to the evils of her captors. Contained within these pages is the true story of margot's life. She has had a long, eventful journey and has always tried to remain positive. Even as a prisoner, she did not let the tragedy of her situation overwhelm her. She feels that she must convey to the world one more picture of the holocaust. We must not forget what humanity is capable of; what humans can become; what crimes they can commit. At the age of 87, Margot has added her written account to those autobiographies so painfully shared by other survivors. It is her hope that World War II will never be forgotten and that others will learn from the past." This book has 155 pages and is illustrated. Overall, a VERY GOOD copy of this SCARCE title.
