Sinclair Lewis (1885-1951) was a Nobel Prize winner who wrote 24 novels and over 70 short stories. Main Street was first published in 1920. This Heritage Club edition is illustrated by the famous American painter Grant Wood (his illustrations first accompanied a Limited Edition Club edition in 1937). This copy is nicely bound in the original publisher's blue cloth covers with a tan spine and gilt spine lettering over a black background. It is accompanied by the original blue slipcase which has just a hint of wear to one corner. This is a nice clean, tight and unmarked book with no interior or exterior markings, no previous owner names and no bookplates.
