Descripción

332 pages; Toning to front endpapers from news article about hats, otherwise clean and tight in original light blue cloth binding with lettering in dark blue Dustjacket edgeworn and chipped at spine ends and corners, closed tear to front panel (now in mylar cover). A broad examination with numerous illustrations of the development of hats and headdresses through the Egyptian, Greek, Roman, Byzantine, Saracenic, and Renaissance times to developments of the seventeenth to mid-twentieth centuries. Mrs. Wilcox says that hair arrangement and head ornament antedate wearing of clothing; no part of one's costume is as universally important as headdress. A valuable reference for artists, hairdressers, hat makers and stage designers. N° de ref. de la librería 39701
