6" x 8 3/4", red cloth with blind-stamped rules and decorative details to both boards, stamped titling and details in black to both front board and spine, 208 pp., yellow endpapers. Four hand-colored botanical plates, 3 engraved plates including frontis. Undated but the Dayton is considered the true First of this title, circa 1845. Condition is about Very Good, perhaps slightly less so, with a sound binding, overall good appearance (see photo enlarged), some bumping, wear and chipping at the corner tips and spine ends, soiling to boards and spine, some light foxing within with overall light tanning of frontis and first hand-colored plate, darker on one engraving plate lacking its tissue guard, penciled notation ffep, otherwise good.
