George N. Fuller (1873 - 1957) was an important historian in Michigan who was wrote a number of books and was a founder of the Michigan Historical Commission. The first two historical volumes of this set contain over 1,000 pages of continuously paged text. This set is complete in itself and the first two volumes cover Michigan history in general. The third volume was originally issued to subscribers covering the subscriber's county of residence--the 3rd volume in this set covers these seven counties of northern Michigan: Wexford, Alpena, Emmet, Cheboygan, Grand Traverse, Manistee, and Benzie counties. Sets that include this third volume are more uncommon than sets with the more populated counties in Michigan. The books have no previous owner names or book plates, are tight and unmarked; there is very slight age toning to margins of pages as usual with this set. The covers are generally good, with some wear, spotting and rubbing as noted: Vol 1 has rubbing to the rear cover and a light ring on the front cover, 2 pages are also loose; Vol 2 has no significant wear to the covers; vol. 3 has a light spot to the front cover (there is some scuffing to three of the blank rear end papers). There are no previous owner names or bookplates. Pagination: Vol 1: 1-540 p. , i-xxvi p. ; Vol 2: 541-1064 p. , i-x p. , Index; Vol. 3: 1-454 p.
