Marbled paper album covers with gilt lettering on front; brad bound; photos measure 2" x 2 ½". Previous owner's signature on first leaf and rubber stamp on front and rear pastedowns. All 600 photos are present. Album covers have heavy wear and chipping to all edges; album leaves have moderate sunning to edges; photos have light to moderate silvering. Tabacalera Cubana, S.A. producers of the famed La Corona and Susini cigars created an album that provides a history of Cuba, told in text and tobacco cards. The album contains 600 silver gel "postales fotograficas" or photo postcards which were found in cigar boxes. Photos were pasted into numbered places by the customer with printed text in Spanish facing each page of photographs. The photographs illustrate the history of Cuba chronologically from the 1500s to the 1920s.
